what's the difference between engineering (common) and the other types of engineering?
Is the duration of the engineering (common) longer than the others? and is it true that we'll be able to choose to go on to study any form of engineering after the first year?
no big differences.
to the 2nd part of question
yes.. depend on yr 1st year results.
common engineering lets U take subjects that are more wide-ranged...because some of the people taking it dont know what they want at that time...so they take this to try out...after 1st year then specialise in one discipline...

hi crimson , there is a difference ,
common engineering is a wide -based learning
whereas in year 2 you can choose which engineering field u want to go to
electrical ,electronics , mechanical and mechatronics

Uhh. Almost everyone takes the same modules in year 1, whether NTU or NUS. I said there are no big differences because common engine people can catch up with their peers after the first year anyway.
where u studying?

Not all engineering courses are offered with 1st year common engineering for NTU at least. A few of them have specific course syllabus which is different from that of the common engineering. Best for you to go down for open house and clear your doubts.
