Hi ppl!
I'm doing a report on the yellow ribbon report which im sure many here are aware of. there used to be a thread on it here but it expired.
anyway, i need help for my report. how do you think that this project can be improved on in any ways?
thanks!
SCORE has developed a Job Portal that will allow employers registered with SCORE's Employment Assistance Unit (EAU) to post job vacancies and search for suitable candidates online. This portal will also be made available to ex-offenders seeking jobs, aftercare agencies such as the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA), the Singapore Aftercare Association (SACA), Community Development Councils (CDCs) and self-help groups.
Employers using the portal can reap the following benefits:
- Have an additional avenue to source for manpower at no cost. Apart from referrals by SCORE, aftecare agencies and CDCs will also be able to refer suitable candidates to employers.
- Ability to post job vacancies immediately as and when they come up.
- Ablility to browse through ex-offender resumes, identify suitable candidates and contact them directly for interviews.
The portal is made available free of charge and can be accessed at the following website address:
www.score.gov.sg under the "Employ Ex-Offenders" section.
in my honest opinion, i think the Yellow Ribbon Project is a failure. ex-cons are still looked in the way before. we're living in a society where there's NO room for 2nd chance.
