  In the diagram, AB = 15 cm, ED = 6cm, AE = 18 cm and angle ABE = angle ADC

  Triangle ABC is similar to Triangle ADC

   

  Given that area of triangles ABE is 132 cm2, find the area of triangle ABD. Answer is176cm2

  There isn't a triangle ABC btw.

  Let the base of triangle ABE be AE = 18cm and the height be h.

  0.5(18)(h)=132

  h=44/3cm

  Area of ABD = 0.5(24)(44/3) = 176cm^2
