hello everyone, i'm currently retaking my a levels, hopefully able to do well in the 09 a levels. anyone out there with prior experience able to provide some help? just read the grade requirements for the respective courses in nus/ntu, quite disturbing to see that most courses require at least a AAB at 10th percentile.
Hi,
For H2 maths, you may wish to refer to the following sites:

Thanks and jiayou!
Cheers,

If you are aiming for the medical or law faculty in NUS, then AAB is just the basic
requirement.
However, if you are aiming for other less competitive faculties, you can still get into
NUS/NTU even with CCD ie there are students admitted in NUS and NTU with
CCD.
So don't be discouraged. Work hard and you can achieve your goals.
For all students who are keenly interested and/or are seriously considering pursuing a lifelong career in Science (eg. medicine, engineering, research & development, etc), and/or are weighing your options of Singapore-vs-Overseas, the following educational and informative articles are well worth a read. how about the practical exams for private candidates? i called up moe and they informed me that i'd require to sit for a separate SPA exam for any h2 science examinations which i wish to take. any idea what kind of questions will pop up?

Private candidates sit for a 2 hour 30 minutes practical exam in lieu (in replacement) of SPA. SPA = School-based Practical Assessment. This is not available for private candidates.
For H2 Chemistry, private candidates take 9761 syllabus with a 2 hour 30 minutes practical exam.

Depends, of course, on your desired course of study, and in which Uni (local vs overseas).
'A' Level Grades Course Requirements
National University of Singapore (NUS)

Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

Singapore Management University (SMU)

If you can, and are willing to, then it's certainly a good idea to retake your 'A' levels, either in 2009, 2010 or 2011.
Note that for local Uni courses, some (not all! check!) Uni departments may allow you to combine 'A' level certificate, but the two certs must be within 12 months of each other.
i took my a's in 2007 so that wouldnt affect at all. i guess i have to retake. can i apply for a local university with GP and 4 H2s? it says that the minimum is 3 h2s and 1 h1, so i suppose 4H2s are fine?
