Hi all,
I can't make it to Polytechnic with my 'O' level results and only left with the option to go for Higher Nitec.
Some of the courses I would like to go in Polytechnic doesn't have Higher Nitec Eligibility.
Since I want to finish my Polytechnic education before serving National Service, I cannot retake my my 'O' Levels as I won't be granted any further deferment (deferment for Polytechnic Education)
I've decided to make good use of my 2 years of Higher Nitec. I would want to sit as a private Candidate for 'O' Levels on my 2nd year in ITE. I would not want to waste my 2 years and not ending up in any of my desired Polytechnic Courses.
From my experience, places are given to 'O' Level candidates first and then the leftover spaces for ITE student, if any. Please clear my doubt if I'm wrong.
I want to know if my 'O' Level grades can be used for admission to Polytechnic instead of the GPA(from ITE) when I finish my 2 years in ITE and will the 'O' Level papers clash with the Higher Nitec papers in terms of timing.
Please Help,
Thank You.
I'm really confused and sleepless over this.
i suggest u dont wait till ur 2nd year of Higher nitec then do ur O level.
do it during the 1st year.
then 2nd year if u can go poly with ur result just quit ite and go poly
I wish I could but do you think i still can apply? Is there like a date to apply? will it interfere with the ns deferment? it's like, they said, "No further extension of deferment will be allowed unless you can commence another stage of studies before 18 years old."
I'll be taking ITE but if i were to retake my 'O' levels at the same time, will it inflict with the deferment terms and conditions?

u can use your o level instead of gpa and the ite papers will not likely clash with o lvls...ite ones around sep or march
