If i don't take geog during sec sch, will i lose out in jc if i take H2 geog? Or is the syllabus in jc different from sec sch? thanks.. :)
n can i take this combination for arts stream?
H1: maths + the other 3 compulsory subjects
H2: history, econs, geog
how about checking with the jc you are planning to enter?
i called them alrdy. :)
now i only got 1 more ques. if i take arts in jc, is my choice of courses quite limited in uni? thanks.
it depends on what u want to study in uni... for arts module... it's either law or any of the arts major within uni...
You can see info on arts faculty in NUS here
http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/
FYI, there's mass comm in NUS as well I believe.
Not really. As long as you've maths, you'll be able to enter most courses offered by local universities, like business admin. and computing.
Bear in mind, though, that you'll be forfeited from most of the science related courses like medicine, dentistry and chem. engineering.

oh ya... business admin, etc as well
ok. thanks! :)
suddenly got 1 more ques. haha..
cos i called the sch and the teacher said since i nv take geog in sec sch, i can't take geog in jc. so i'm wondering is it a must for my 3 H2 subjects to be arts related if i go for the arts stream? or can i mix (H1 and H2)? thanks again. :)
For eg.
H1: maths
H2: history, econs, bio
i know it's a weird combi.. haha.
not sure if u can take H2 Bio cuz u took combined science.... U might need to check...
Bio is a lot of essay writing in JC I believe... Physics more maths
It depends on which JC you're planning to go to. Why not call the teacher and ask if the subject combination you desire is available?
I strongly suggest you not to take H2 bio since you haven't got a chem. to back it up. Biology alone will be useless should you wish to apply for something related to the biomedical field e.g. medicine, dentistry. Even bioengineering or Pharmaceuticals.
Therefore, I strongly urge you to reconsider. If you really like biology, then you can take it up as a H1 subject and put maths as your H2.
Afterall, you'll stand to benefit from both your H2 maths and H2 econs should you wish to apply for any of the business-related courses.
ok.. i don't think they allow such a weird combi. haha.

If you're taking a comb. sci with biology, then you'll need a distinction in comb. sci in order to apply for H2 Biology.

i got b3.. lol.
i think i'll just risk taking lit for H2. i heard H2 lit can kill. --"

1) Only if you get A1 for combined science, then they'll allow you to take Science subjects at H2 level.2) If you want to take Bio, you should take Chem as well.3) If you take any science subjects, they should all be at H2 level. H1 level science is useless as background prerequisite for Uni admission.4) Chemistry (of the 3 sciences) is the most required background subject for applying into Science University courses.5) Chemistry is the most enjoyable subject at JC level, definitely more enjoyable than Biology (which is a pity, Biology is interesting on its own, but at H2/H1 syllabus in Sg JCs, you need to memorize way too much, and usually without proper understanding, appreciation or enjoyment).
thanks thanks!~
