They usually announce it 3 days before release

because I also heard On 9th, 15th and 16th. So many different dates =/ i heard 16th from my school teacher, heard 9th from my friend's school.

There was a newspaper report (Straits Times, 24 Dec 08) saying that a woman criminal was sentenced to jail. But she request the judge to postpone her jail sentence, because she said she want to guide her daughter thru the O level results and thru the JAE.
Then the judge said OK, and he consulted MOE. Then he postponed her jail sentence to start on 19 Jan 09.
Therefore, by logical deduction, that JAE will definitely end before 19 Jan 09. (Mon).
Since 19 Jan 09 is a Monday, that means the last day of JAE is likely to be on 16 or 17 Jan 09.
This means that “O” level results will be likely announced on 12 Jan 09.

O levels no need commit suicide de. Can just repeat again if score badly. Anyway, most singaporeans love to study study study, avoiding working life until they are reach 30 years old.

Results for the 2008 GCE O-Level examination will be released on 12 Jan 2009 ( 2.00 pm ). All private candidates can either use the
Password or use their SingPass to view their results by clicking here. Private candidates can apply for appeal of their results through this website from 12 Jan 2009 ( 2.00 pm ) to 19 Jan 2009 ( 11.59 pm ). Candidates can apply for appeal on any number of subjects. The appeal fee for the O-Level results is $102.70 (inclusive of GST) per subject. After you have applied for appeal of results, please bring along your identification document, e.g. NRIC and Passport, to make your payment at MOE, Customer Service Centre, No 1, North Buona Vista Drive between 12 Jan 2009 ( 2.00 pm ) and 20 Jan 2009 ( 6.00 pm ). The mode of payment is either cash or NETS. We are unable to process your requests for appeal if payment is not made by the stipulated date.
