ITE introduces four new courses in precision engineering
SINGAPORE : The Institute of Technical Engineering (ITE) will be introducing four new courses in precision engineering.
The ITE Board of Governors said this is to support the development of
the precision engineering industry in Singapore, as well as to attract
secondary school-leavers to take up careers in the sector.
The new full-time courses, set to be implemented in January 2009,
are in aerospace machining, machine building, medical manufacturing and
semiconductor tooling.
The precision engineering sector contributes 10 per cent of
Singapore's total manufacturing output and employs more than 94,000
people.
To support the ITE's new courses, industry players have stepped
forward by offering a total of 29 scholarships worth some S$70,000. -
