Come come, please express your feelings.
Basically, it's do-able, thing is, everything we expected didn't come out and everything we just read and that's it, came out. (At least for my case..)
gosh, i remember physics, questions from hell
specific heat capacity, transformers, electromagnetism
omg
I didn't manage to finish all the question. Most of the answers required detailed explanation, which consumed a lot of time.
It is not difficult if time is not the factor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

those are actually the easiest...
but somehow, most students hv problems in those
I failed in time management :(
well well i still managed to finish writing ;)
the most i'll penalise myself for 10 marks i guess. i felt insecure writing some of the answers.
many thanks to eagle Examworld, ytd i chiong through all those calculations qns and most came out today, and all i could answer! those confirm correct la, except for one press calculator press wrong.
Amazingly, the questions on thermal energy were easy, and they even hinted us at the 2nd last and last question because the 2nd last question is asking for latent heat, which at first i wrote specific latent heat, then the last question asked for specific latent heat so I realised my mistake. As for the one on the electric car, it's kinda confusing.. but as long as you do step by step slowly you should be able to do it, thing is yes, there were too much explanation questions these time, no time to calculate the behind part.
Saddest thing of all: Study converging lens come out diverging lens, revised how to calculate ditre using thermometer fixed points come out ask us draw thermocouple thermometer end up forgot what material the wires are. (!!!) And also, what's the size of a freaking atom?! -dies-

lol, this was one of the most surprising question.
Maybe next time they will ask how many time caesium-133 atom needs to vibrate to make up 1 second.
Only nerds could answer.
But even if (i) is wrong, (ii) will still get marks because method marks is there

Hahahaha, true. I guess sometimes you have to admit that you cannot just study smart. :( You have to study hard too, like memorising the whole physics textbook to be able to score for all the explanation questions in this paper.

I didn't know that you have to memorize what materials the wires are as well... interesting...
what you mean by size of an atom?
just make sure they are different wire, maybe copper and steel...
don't think it is in the syllabus, more like a design question, to design the experiment bah.

Because the question stated to 'draw a thermocouple thermometer in a jet engine and label clearly', so I suppose you can't just draw the wires and the two junctions without any labels, that's why. =[
There was a question saying, "the wavelength of X-ray is roughly the size of an atom, what is the wavelength of X-ray?" =/ Then followed by calculating the frequency of X-ray.

But it's labelled in my textbook, so I guess.. T.T Oh ya, and the last questions Either and Or, both asked us to list apparatus and procedures of an experiment. Completely stunned, because I threw back my SPA knowledge =[

label as wires/junctions can le mah
and wavelength of X-rays should be in the nm region, just anyhow whack also can...
example just give it as 1 nm.
the sample exam paper include this type of questions, so am not surprise. just design an experiment to measure what you need to find out with whatever apparatus you can think of.
Wa means don't need label material? T.T Alamak, means my one confirm wrong means. :( Okay thanks! I wrote 10^-10m, =/ Heh heh. :D Yup, but the designing experiment is at the last question, by that time no time to consolidate my thoughts properly, anyhow whack.
http://www.vjc.moe.edu.sg/academics/dept/physics_dept/applet/dlens/dlens.htm
think that's the diverging lens
and i put 6x10^-20 as size of atom =/

Oh yea SAME for me. i spent so much time explaining. It is the exam setter's fault la. This is the first year where they stress more on explainations. Previously there were more calculations.
i left out the last 3 qns which costs me 6 marks. I really shldnt have spent so much time on stuffs that i dont know. Having not enuf time was seldom my problem esp when i expected it to be easy. Hardest O lvl paper for now. sigh... :(
This paper never come out all the big topics such as
Moments, Pressure, Generator/Motor, CRO.
=(
i personally prefer harder physics paper since i am rather good in physics. But this is both hard and time consuming which is bullcrap. Some people who didnt do certain qns(cos they dunno how) still complain that they didnt finish.

indeed.
the qns on size of an atom is the crap. luckily i still can remember a bit that gamma and x rays overlap, and the smallest wavelength (gamma) is 10^-14, so anyhow plant 10^-13 there. Heng.
Hais, paper 1 how? Still all these surprise questions? :(
What paper 1...
after ss (my last paper), i dont know about you elect lit kids, but i'm gonna go mad. literally serious.
What can I say, you completely ignore paper 1, HAHAHAHAHA. Nice one, but I still have hmt, literature and then all the papers 1. Nevertheless, I think I'm in the same boat as you.
hmm hmt. do well for it to secure your L1 :D
paper 1, quoted from my teachers, is used to distinguish the distinction (no pun) students from the normal ones, i guess, using trick qns like those found in the specimen paper. I think chem spec paper has quite a few.
