New syllabus 4016: Box and whiskers is in.
Old syllabus 4017: I think don't have.
New syllabus take note, you don't have either or question, all questions are compulsory. I can't really remember what came out for EM liao though.. [because my mind is filled with the AM today..]. Has coordinate geometry come out yet? Hmmmm, bearing come out liao, still got those proving questions right. Sheet, I really can't remember.
Oh ya new syllabus, standard deviation also inside, remember how to use your calculators!
Interest and cmpd interest!
remember... have to do EXTREMELY well to get A1, almost no room for error.
101% that coordinate graph will come out. i am banking on angles in circles, trigo, coordinate graph, mensuration to get high marks & statistics.

Not really lar. The standard aint that high for emath.
It is true for chem tho.
Hmmm also a problem sum and then show an algebra expression or something. Sometimes it's in a form of a diagram to show the quadratic equation or something. Remember if you can't show that, move on to part [b] which is 90% asking you to solve for x. :) Grab as many marks as you can.

oh
express in terms of x the speed of A.
A speed is 5 less than B, express speed of B
Create an eqn and see that it comes to x^2 +2x+1 and solve it.
u guys not studying tonight?
i'm taking a break today i'm damn tired, mentally & phsyically ZZzzzzz

yeap not studying. Watching house later !! XD
fark! got qn 3 wrong. arghhhh!!! studied so much on it , but forgot how to do.

is your qn 3 the one i said about?

(a) Factorise 49x4 – (x2 - x)2 Completely.
(b)
A transport company pays the driver a wage of $2v per hour and
reimburses $1/litre for fuel. On a certain trip, a lorry travels 100km
at a constant speed of v km/h and consumes fuel at a rate of ( v3/200 – 1/5 v2) litres per hour.
(i) Find, in terms of v, the time taken by the lorry for the journey
(ii) Given that the total cost of the driver’s wages and fuel for the trip is $C, show C = ½ (v-20)2
(iii) If the total cost of the driver’s wages and fuel for the trip is $450, find the value of v.
(a) Solve [(2x + 3) / (x² - 1)] - 2 = 1 / (x + 1)
(b) A
man finds that it takes 10 minutes less to cut his lawn with a new
mower which cuts at 12.5 m² per minute faster than his old one. The
area of his lawn is 320 m².
(i) Taking x to be the rate, in m² per
minute, at which the new mower cuts, write down an expression, in terms
of x, for the time taken to cut the lawn with the new mower.
(ii) Hence form an equation in x and show that it reduces to 2x² - 25x - 800 = 0
(iii) Solve this equation and find the time taken to cut the lawn with the new mower.
(iv)
If his new mower consumes 1 litre of petrol per 10 minutes and each
litre of petrol costs $1.25, calculate the amount of petrol used and
the cost of the petrol.
(a) Factorise 49x4 – (x2 - x)2 Completely
=(7x²)²-(x²-x)²
=(7x²-x²+x)(7x²+x-x)
=(6x²+x)(8x²-x)
Correct me please if i am wrong x.x cause my maths not really good esp b.[Please guide me along=)] Currently working out b x.x

Then expand will get c=½ (v-20)2 ?
Am i on the correct track? If i aint kindly point it out to me > . < Thanks.
wah at least u all studying hard now
i see those o'levels students staying around my house area, still can slack or play soccer till very late at night

good mah. help us moderate. or maybe they too pro liao. confident of the a1.
(a) Solve [(2x + 3) / (x² - 1)] - 2 = 1 / (x + 1)
x= 2 or 3/2
Is it correct?
If i dont study i can say bb to my maths lers..Must ganbatte since they say paper 2 will be very difficult x.x

Found this from wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compound_interest
Formulae are presented in greater detail at time value of money.
In the formula below, i or r are the interest rate, expressed as a true percentage (i.e. 10% = 10/100 = 0.10). FV and PV represent the future and present value of a sum. n represents the number of periods.
These are the most basic formulae:
The above calculates the future value of FV of an investment's present value of PV accruing at a fixed interest rate of i for n periods.
The above calculates what present value of PV would be needed to produce a certain future value of FV if interest of i accrues for n periods.
The above two formulae are the same and calculate the compound interest rate achieved if an initial investment of PV returns a value of FV after n accrual periods.
The above formula calculates the number of periods required to get FV given the PV and the interest rate i. The log function can be in any base, e.g. natural log (ln)
Formula for calculating compound interest:
Where,
Example usage: An amount of $1,500.00 is deposited in a bank paying an annual interest rate of 4.3%, compounded quarterly. Find the balance after 6 years.
A. Using the formula above, with P = 1500, r = 4.3/100 = 0.043, n = 4, and t = 6:
So, the balance after 6 years is approximately $1,938.84.
need bring mathematical box???

Act young only.. -.-"
I think bring long ruler, curve ruler and protractor in case, okay maybe compass too. :)
Bring set squares also in case you need to find another point with the same gradient at a point from the graph you plot on graph paper. (Concept of parallel lines)
