Well, except for memorising, and memorising. Any other methods? \:
learn the answering technique to push your answer to lv 4 or 5
geog is hard sia. Yet i have to bank on it for A1. I always answer yet doesnt fit the answer scheme
LIke must remember describe means just state the simple minded crap of what you see and explain means yea you know. But believe it or not sometimes i dont even get full marks for describe just because i didnt describe what they wanted. Like must say this is more than that which i didnt. I just said X is 1, Y is 4. Stupid i mean it is obvious 4 is more than 1.right?
Har? Geog was the easiest to score to me.
Yeah Geog is damn easy. You can't fail it unless you don't study.
Just remember one example for every point. For LORMS questions, write both benefits and disadvantages for each point. Usually it's two points. So write 4 paragraphs. Always four. No less. Don't lump pros and cons so it becomes 2 big paragraphs. Each paragraph one example. Easy 8 marks.
got map reading?
geog can bluff your way through one
just write alot
make sure not out of point.
Wa nice format to do lorms. so write pro con pro con.
You have format for the normal questions?
My teacher doesnt teach format at all.
Eh seriously someone pls teach me the format.
Haha what do you mean normal questions? All LORMS qns follow the same format. Just make sure 4 paragraphs and cover both pros and cons, and you're set. Oh and the examples. No examples - whole LORMS question get 1-2 marks only. Just because you didn't add in those extra words. My school enforces format very strictly :/
Good luck for later!
Lorms for 8m Q
L1 (0-2 marks)
L2 (3-5 marks)
L3 (6-8 marks)
Me ish full geog. If they ask like which coastal protection measure is most effective, must say on break water, sea wall and a soft engineering; egs for each. Assesments on limitations is done on each factor in each paragraph. The last para conclude.
Its like:
1st para: breakwater - info and goodnesses and egs.
limitations
2nd para: sea wall - info eg
limitations
Our school doesnt enforce this but this is how i do.
Guilt show, what do you mean by 2 points? as in they wld ask for eg, break water compared to seawall?
I take Core Geog too.
Eg: "Soft engineering methods of coastal protection may be more effective than hard engineering methods of protection." Do you agree? EYA. (My school prelim question)
Para 1: Describe at least 2 methods of soft engineering, with specific examples for both. State benefits of these soft engineering methods. (I actually named them all: beach nourishment, relocation of property, planting of mangroves and stabilising dunes)
Para 2: Give problems associated with these soft engineering methods, with specific examples.
Para 3: Describe at least 2 methods of hard engineering, with specific examples. State benefits of these hard engineering methods. (Again, I named all: groynes, gabions, breakwaters, seawalls)
Para 4: Negative impact of these hard engineering methods.
No need for conclusion. My teacher says you do not need to assess which is more effective, as long as you give both pros and cons for both, and specific examples in each paragraph. Then 8 marks :-)
Hope that helps! I always get 7/8 marks for LORMS, btw ;-)

Hehe my teacher says must give conclusion; at least say which is more effective.
btw your method of assessing is more correct. What i did was assesing by measure and not type of measure(soft or hard).
Thanks for your explaination.
You're welcome, good luck for later!
