the maths tuition teacher? she charges a very high price. Remember reading about her in ST earlier this year. Plus her blog sounds retarded.
comment responses are accepted. If you wish to not condemn her publicly personal messages are also accepted.
oh yeah she sells "exampapers" too from her blog. What do you think of that? Its easy for any layman to also change questions from other sources (just saying).
Well I personally won't buy exam papers from her. She charges a fucking $60 for one set of paper...
Don't post any links here.
It's marketing.
what talking you? I where got post links?
just warning u....
no necessity to buy her papers... there are just so many other cheaper sources out there...
Tuition wise, I'm not sure how much she charges... But look at physics.com.sg owner, he charges damn high (the one that ST said earns $20k monthly), yet he still has students...
Ultimately, it still boils down to how effective a teacher is...

I love reading her blog. Her teaching techniques as far as I can see are effective. And if people are willing to pay, why not?

Well your entitled to your own opinions. I digress, I can't stand the way she "creates" questions. She has some wild imagination. Last minute buddha foot hugging syndrome? shit that sounds like some traditional chinese medicine diagnosis for some chronic tropical disease. She must have read ALOT of chinese literature when she was a kid.
So you are a student of her?

Last minute buddha foot hugging
comes from a Chinese Idiom
signifies doing things last minute

I guess it stems from people praying to buddha at his feet for help.

I am not. I am a maths tutor too. And I specialise in O level maths too.

yup, at the very last minute... because they didn't prepare well before hand... and they are praying for divine intervention/help because of it
eagle maybe you should also make money by "creating" test papers. Looks like in this world the only way to make it big is through fraudery.

Are you an acquintance of her?

no necessity... I create 'questions' on the spot usually, when I'm teaching my students... Sort of like... when you teach, you can sense which area they are weaker at... Then you create a few simple questions testing just that area... to further improve their understanding
I am not an acquintance of her. I have only communicated once with her by email to inform her of a typo on her blog as it would be rude to do so by commenting.
Eagle, Miss Loi and all the other tutors who bother to make informative website/blog are obviously responsible tutors and thus I respect all of them.
You go another one hor... that one badmouth other tutors machiam like she damned power sia. That kind then I don't respect but I still will not name.
And creating proper exams questions is not easy. An exam papers got to have that just right ratio of standard and imaginative questions.
I am not saying hers meet the standards I mentioned above and I have never seen her papers. But if people wanna buy, it is their biz wor.
Farking pain in the ass to create exams papers. Like this year is new syllabus so no papers before hand to play with when my students completed the syllabus in April... so had to modify the old TYS 1986-2007 to match the current topics.
