mass of tungsten is as a proportion of the mass of wolf.. the mass of wolf being XXX
i don understand why must we x to the mass of wolf instead of the total mass?
because you don't the formula of the actual ore so you only know that the mass of wolf is 10% of the ore...
you know that the proportion of tungsten is
out of 359g (Mr of wolf) - 184g belongs to tungsten.
NOT out of total mass of ore - 184g belongs to tungsten
so 184/359 x (mass of wolf)
= 184/359 x (10% x mass of ore)
mass of ore = 10 tonnes
alamak
tungsten is in the ore
the mass of the ore is 10 tonnes
so its (184/359) x ( mass of ore)
how come urs is (184/359) x ( 10% of mass of the ore)?
ok ok i tink i noe where im wrong
tungsten is in wolf, not in the ore!
sorry sorry
ok it's something like..
you have a 10kg cake...
10% of this 10kg cake is made up of this special syrup.
a standard size of the special syrup is 10g chocolate + 20g vanilla + 40g cocoa = 70g.
what's the mass of chocolate in the 10kg cake?
is it
10g / 70g x 10kg
or 10g/70g x 10% x 10 kg?
make me do story telling kao
(pops by just to wayang wayang that I'm doing my Moderatorship duties...)

sorry to bust into your thread gunner. Your chem questions seem so alien to me... what topic is it?
ohhh !!
ok ok ! i understand liao !!
we donno the ore, we only noe the tungsten and wolf
the tungsten inside the wolf, so we take tungsten/ mr of wolf x the mass of wolf since we noe the mass of it.
