"O" Level Chemistry, some doubts

  Ripped from SEAB pure chem 5072 syllabus document

  aluminium hydroxide - white
  calcium hydroxide - white
  copper(II) hydroxide - light blue
  iron(II) hydroxide - green
  iron(III) hydroxide - red-brown
  lead(II) hydroxide - white
  zinc hydroxide - white

  Seems stupid because this is actually what you learn in QA. But it'll be good for the rest who don't know.

  Chlorine = yellow-green.

  That's what I can still remember.

   

  Edit: Oh, and iodine = purple.

  your agents. Potassium dichromate orange become green.

  Ok test for presence of water: cobalt chloride blue to pink

  Copper sulphate white to blue

  Oh yes, redox agents.

  Cobalt chloride is for water. Blue to pink i suppose.

  There you go, something for you to (eagerly) look forward to taking Chem at 'A' levels. Betcha can't wait for JC life... in fact, right now you sooooo wish you can make an online registration switch to taking 'A' level exams next week instead of 'O' levels, no doubt!

  Haha, no, I have no clue what's the A level Chemistry syallbus is about! :D

  And I think I still have lots of O level concepts to master.

  But after reading the exciting, seductive syllabuses; try (I understand it's tough, but do try) to restrain yourself and not break into the JCs during the Dec hols, wear their uniforms, and set up camp in their lecture theatres eagerly waiting for the school semester to begin.

  Just checked the o level chem syllabus (new one with spa)

  and I feel cheated. I checked this shit so many times, and this is the first time i realised that it has a last page.

  ok, so my post is probably redundant now. I hope what I am gonna edit into the OP is gonna serve my follow o level pure chem 5072 mates well.
