  u take the square root of the two numbers in the ratio, and u multiply that two numbers, and then u square it. what is the significance of the value obtained?

   

  e.g.:

   

  64:9

   

  8 * 3 = 24

   

  24 * 24 = 576

   

  what does the value of 576 mean, can you find a practical example?

  576=64*9

  x^2:y^2

  square root them

  x:y

  multiply them

  xy

  square the above

  x^2*y^2

  64:9

  = 8^2:3^2 (a^2:b^2)

  take square root

  8:3 (a:b)

  then you multiply the 2 terms together.

  8 * 3 (ab)

  you square the result

  8^2 * 3^2= 576 (a^2 * b^2)

  64 * 9 = 576
