I thought where u come from they use corn. ha ha...anyway i managed to found a corner where they still price at $2.79 per gallon for shell, cheveron, Exxon......Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:I don't get it. How come gas is cheaper in SoCal than here in the midwest? It's around $2.95/gal. over here. How is California supposed to maintain its reputation as the state with the highest cost of living, if it can't do something as simple as keep gas prices ludicrously high?
You Kalifornians are losing your collective touch....

Give me! Give me! $2.88 here.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:$2.62/gal. around here today. They're practically giving it away!!!
Poor MG. I bet your heating bills are high. I'm cheap when it comes to turning on the heat. I know it's nowhere near as cold here compared to MN but it's cold for me nonetheless. Last winter, I think we turned on the heat 4 or five times. Tahan until cannot tahan.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:$2.99/gal. around here.
Actually, I'm more concerned about natural gas prices, which are predicted to be at least 40% more expensive than last winter's record high prices.
(The impact of high pump prices can be ameliorated somewhat by driving less, but you have to keep your house heated in winter, no matter what.)
Yeah, but that's California, where the people are filthy rich and can easily afford to pay that amount for gas.Originally posted by Arapahoe:i saw on TV that the gas price was above $4.20 in Northern California.....that is way up there.

I don't understand why anyone would need a honking, gas-guzzling SUV to go to work and the store. Why?Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:$2.98/gal. around here this morning. The people owning SUVs must be hurting now... GOOD!
