i put in last night at $3.53 mid tier in california. I think it is temporary holding at 3.55 to 3.53.

Gas price across the street from my office just went from $3.09 to $3.39.

Can it be? Prices have eased! $3.29 at Costco but I'm going to hold back for a couple of days.

At USD 1 = SGD 1.53
SGD 5.36 = 1 Gallon
2.63 US gallons = 10 litres
SGD 5.36 X 2.63 US gallons = 10 litres
SGD 14.10 = 10 litres
In US:
SGD 1.41 = 1 litre.
In Singapore:
Shell V-Power: SGD 1.793 / litre
Shell 98: SGD 1.581 / litre
Shell 95: SGD 1.514 / litre
Shell 92: SGD 1.485 / litre
**The assumption is you are in US and using US gallon, if you using British gallon which is 2.2 gallon = 10 litres, the US pump prices will be even cheaper.
Therefore the petrol in US is definitely cheaper than Singapore.

However, you also have to keep in mind that the average driver in the US puts a lot more miles on his vehicle (the national average being between 12,000 and 15,000 miles driven per year), so the overall annual fuel bill for him is probably much higher than what a typical Singapore motorist pays in a given year for the same type of vehicle. -
gas is not only cheaper in the US than in Singapore, it's generally cheaper than the rest of the world (minus producing countries)

for the sake of the world's environment and future, i hope gas prices in the US keep up to date with global prices. -
if your daily commute is less than 50miles, please switch to an electric car. it's not just shifting the source of pollution from cars to power plants like many people tell me..... better explained below.

this best describes my motive for going electric, though there are also other reasons.Another point is that controlling emissions from several hundred power plants is much easier than controlling the emissions from 187 million internal combustion engine vehicles.

I'd love to switch to a hybrid at least .... but the cost of these vehicles is such that you're paying for the fuel upfront .... and if something goes kaput in these cars, it can be a very traumatic experience for the wallet ....
another thing is that most of the current crop of hybrids are compact sized cars .... not the best thing on the highway .... my civic gets buffeted on the highway to the point that it's a bit hard to control in a cross wind ... so a little prius, while green for the environment, may be quite a hard sell to people .... -

Here in my part of California, prices are easing and holding. Regular unleaded has been $2.93 a gallon for the past week or so. Hope it holds because I haven't filled up in a week and won't need to for another. -
