ABRAMOVICH REVEALS LONG-TERM PLAN
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has broken his tradition of silence to pledge his long-term commitment to the Premiership champions.
Abramovich also revealed he wanted to build the Blues into the biggest club in the world in the next 10 years.
"I view this title as the beginning of a new era for Chelsea and would like to reiterate my long-term commitment to the club," said Abramovich.
"We want to build the most successful football club in the world."
He added: "Much has been said about the financial outlay over the past two years.
"However, this must be seen in the context of placing Chelsea on a level playing field with the other top clubs in England and Europe for a sustained period.
"We have made solid investments on the field in players, management, training facilities and an academy that will nurture the next generation of home-grown talent.
"Off the field, a team has been put together to grow the business and capitalise on the playing success. All of this is a deliberate, long-term strategy."
Chelsea wrapped up the Premiership title with a 2-0 win at Bolton last week and Abramovich congratulated manager Jose Mourinho and his players.
"I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the board of directors, Peter Kenyon, Jose Mourinho, captain John Terry, the staff and, especially, the players on bringing the title to Stamford Bridge.
"Winning the league this year is especially moving as it comes on the 50th anniversary of Chelsea's last title and at the beginning of the club's centenary year celebrations
"I would especially like to congratulate the fans. You have waited patiently and this victory has only been possible thanks to your support.
"Fifty years is much too long to wait - and I am confident that we will not have to wait that long again."

ABRAMOVICH AIMS FOR 100-YEAR RULE
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to build a legacy at the Premiership champions that will last 100 years.
The Russian billionaire writes in the foreword to a new book on Chelsea of his strategy to "build the most successful football club in the world".
"Everything we have done so far is geared to this," Abramovich says.
"I hope to carry this forward in the true blue tradition of Chelsea but also build even stronger foundations to last us the next 100 years."
Abramovich has already funded a spending spree of around £240m on players since his £140m takeover at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2003, producing a first title in 50 years last season.
"When I became involved in Chelsea, I had little idea how much joy and excitement it would bring me," he adds.
"I can think of no more fitting tribute to our centenary season than to enter it as the Premiership champions. That is like a dream come true.
"It was 50 years since our previous title and everybody's working hard to ensure we will not have to wait that long again.
"In future we hope to bring even more joy than you (Chelsea fans) have experienced over the last 100 years.
"In order to do this many challanges lie ahead. We want to retain the Premiership title and, of course, challenge again in Europe.
"Maybe this year we can go one stage better and go to the Champions League final."

ARNESEN REVEALS HIS BLUES MISSION
Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen says his primary task is to unearth the club's next generation of star talent.
The Dane revealed he is working closely with manager Jose Mourinho but not when it comes to first-team affairs.
"That's not my area," Arnesen told BBC Radio Five Live. "Jose and I talk about players and positions but the hot-shot negotiations are up to Peter Kenyon.
"Our target is to find an academy player and bring him through to the first team in two years' time."
Arnesen sees his role as working in tandem with that of Mourinho and chief executive Kenyon in finding the players necessary for the Premiership champion's squad.
Chelsea, with Roman Abramovich's fortune behind them, have been accused of buying in talent rather than nurturing it.
But Arnesen says his position as sporting director is vital to the long-term ambitions and development of the club.
"When Roman came here he wanted to quickly get the club up to a certain level," said Arnesen.
"That was step one but the next step is to go into the structure and that's why I'm here.
"Chelsea is taking this very seriously. We will not go out and spend money all the time. It has to be a combination of that and the players that I will go out and look for.
"And when I'm looking for players, I will ask the same questions as I did at PSV and Tottenham - 'are they good enough and is the price right?'"
Arnesen began his new role at Chelsea on 1 September after his controversial switch from Tottenham.
Chelsea were accused of making an illegal approach for Arnesen and had to pay an estimated £8m in compensation while Arnesen himself was suspended.
And, though he has only been at Stamford Bridge less than two months, the former Denmark international says he is already making progress.
"I've been more involved in football in the last one-and-a-half months here than I have been in the entire year," said Arnesen.
"I have been given an opportunity by a club who are investing not only in players but also in the structure of the club in terms of scouting and development.
"It is different to my role at Tottenham and that is one of the reasons I took it.
"My job is 20-25% administration and the rest of the time I'm out looking for players.
"That is what I like - getting players to the club, seeing their development, watching them break into the first team and then into the national team.
"I didn't know what I would find here but it's great and for me Chelsea are one of the most exciting clubs in the world."

Can someone name me a football club owner that is almost always in the stand cheering on his team.
The only other person I can think of is Ken Bates.......the previous owner of Chelsea.
Jack Charlton can be seen at Manure's game but he is NOT the owner. -

The young Irina became an air hostess. As an Aeroflot trolley dolly at the Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow, she progressed straight on to the coveted international routes, where hostesses could establish contact with the great and the not-so-good. She caught the eye of a young chancer by the name of Abramovich and the couple were married in 1991.
Today, Roman is said to enjoy playing the patriarch and likes to have his wife at home. But no Stepford wife, she — having secured a degree in fine arts from Moscow University.
