Whatever it is...don't buy diamonds...you buy expensive but resale value low. Some tips..if you go to manila in the philippines, when you buy a pair of 18 caret gold rings for 2500 to 3000 pesos, in Singapore you can pawn it for S$70 to S$80 for each ring. That means your profits is more than 50% depending on the currency exchange rate of course. The best place to buy gold in manila is at santa cruz district...I would recommend Ongpin Jewel..can get good bargain.

ever consider silver? when you speak about investment, there are many consideration, how much extra money are you setting aside for this investment, this must be extra money that can be loss. Most of the investment can be done by yourself via online as long as you register up an account, a recommended figure to invest with is approximately 5000-10000 with no leveraging. Do not consider leveraging, thou it can bring great profit but it may also cause your downfall and a life-time of debt.

are you sure got such a good deal. if there is. all pawn shops will do it themselves.
the only reason philipines are selling so low is that they are fake gold. not 18 carats.
if not, they will value it accordingly to the gold prices. unless they are stupid of course.

I've done that before I think 3 times, bought it in the philippines and pawn it in Singapore...its a mixture of white gold (silver) and gold. The problem is you cannot bring those 18 carats gold in bulk...Singapore Immigration and Custom will question you. When I pawned it, well, they didn't actually follow the 100% pure gold rate but whatever it is I gained profit from it. The pure gold ring is soft and its 24 carat. Most of the gold jewelleries are mixed with white gold so it will not be too soft and the prices are different depending how much white gold are mixed with the pure gold to produce the jewelleries. The lower the carat the more white gold that are mixed with the pure gold. As for the gold and pawn shop owners...I think they must have the license to buy the gold bars in bulk and melt the gold bars and same for pawn shop..they must have the license to melt the jewelleries. Well, do you have any idea where Singapore jewelleries manufacturers got their raw gold? -
