Son of Hamas - Mosab Hassan Yousef
This book is a true account of a boy born in the Occupied Territories in Palestine, to the leader of Hamas.
It is an almost blow-by-blow account of how his gentle religious father was pushed towards the insanity that is the violence in the Middle East, how his youth was shaped by those around him, how his arrest by the Shin Bet opened his eyes to the corruption, evil and futility of the methods of his people, and how he made unthinkable choices.
One feels for the author as he has given up everything, including his inherited faith, his position, his family, even his name because he could not see or believe in the struggle which is cause of all the misery to his people.
Quite a compelling read, and a must-read for those who are trying to understand what is going on in the Middle East.
