Your view on singapore movie review magazine 'First!'

Well...critics are close to useless by saying almost every film that is popular sucks.
Other than Roger Erbert, I don't listen to any other critics.
But back onto the main topic, what is your view on First! magazine?
I don't really like First! magazine due to how they rate the films.
You hardly see a film rating below 2 stars, and they give out 5 star rating way too often
Other than that...they like to act so american like or something. From the way and content they write...hate their attitude. -
my dad bought the magazine every month. i like the postcards and posters that comes with the mag.
as for their rating of movies. it's like that one. cos those movie studios invite u to watch the movie for free, most of the time way before it hits the cinema that's why they must write a favourable review.
like for example the movie studio let u do a cover story story on it's movies or let u interview it's stars, of course u must return the favour right? it's all part of the contract.

Then doesn't that defeats the whole point of giving a rating? You are writing a rating FOR the audience, not the studio...
