Anyone watched this movie yet? Some parts are rather touching, almost cried at the part where the mexican nanny and the kids were stuck in the desert.
Was quite turned off by the despo-ness and nudity of the Japanese girl.

my friends were kpkbing when the show finally ended... they thk it's too boring...

Babel tells a complex tale of four interlocking stories. A poor Morrocan family acquires a rifle to protect their goats. An American couple's bus tour holiday is shattered when she is accidentally shot. That couple's children, at home in the USA with their nanny/housekeeper, accompany her to Mexico to attend her son's wedding.
Meanwhile, a Japanese father, whose wife has committed suicide some time ago, is unable to communicate with his deaf teenage daughter.

the movie title "Babel" is inspired by the story of the Tower of Babel.
It was a tower built by a united humanity to reach the heavens. God, observing the unity of humanity in the construction, resolves to destroy the tower and confuse the previously uniform language of humanity. without a uniform language, humanity is unable to communicate with one another and therefore cannot build the tower.
this pretty much relates to the movie, which centres around miscommunication with one another.
btw, Babel is composed of two words, "baa" meaning "gate" and "el," "god." Hence, "the gate of god." -

in the earlier scenes of the movie, Bradd Pitt called Amelia and asked about his kids and had a conversation.. but then, the ending have the same conversation... how come it happens ah? -

the storytelling is non-linear. the 4 different stories are interconnected but take place at different times, told in staggered manner which makes this movie so unique.
