Hi All,
Need to find somewhere to release my work frustration... hope I can start a thread on it... you know... some sort of punching bag...
I will start first...
I always thought that kindness begets kindness at the workplace. You treat pple nice, other pple will treat u the same.
Not true, as I find out a few times...
You see, some colleagues whom i have to work with made some mistakes recently. I have the courtesy and tactfulness to send them an email informing them of the error, WITHOUT cc. their bosses, only to the one recipient...
Ok, error fixed... everything settled and we moved on, without a word of thanks or apology... actually fine by me... no issue there...
Then one day, I did a typo error and a few days later... an email arrived from the person whose mistake was spotted by me previously... with my immediate superiors and not so immediate ones in the loop, including her manager as well.
The email gave details of my one typo error and horrors! at the same time, she even asked for info which her dept should have but didn't and arrowed me to source for it... with all the BS and bureaucracy thrown in...
WTF... i thought, feeling nauseous and disgusted at the email
But then i LL, because i was in the wrong in the first place... but what irks and hurts me is that the phrase," I scratch your back and you scratch mine" doesn't apply in my workplace... more like " I scratch your back and you stab me..."
Haiz... damn sianz... heart pain just thinking of it...
