Hi, Buddhism/Buddha does not require blind devotion nor any worship. The teachings of Buddha is to attain Enlightenment.
Although Buddha or an Arhant still has karma - he still falls ill occasionally (although Buddha's karmic result is much lighter than us'), and so on, just like any other being in the world would have, however he no longer creates any more karma after his Enlightenment.
Dun add on liao lar... ha ha .... wait I still need to thanks again. [kidding]Originally posted by sinweiy:To add.
Since a cause is like a karma seed that was planted in the past. Then when the seed encounter conditions of water/sunlight/soil, it starts to reap or take effect. So we have created many good and bad seeds in the uncountable past. When these seeds met up with conditions of the 3 posions (greed, hatred and folly), they starts to reap. So the whole idea of Buddhism is not to stop the past karma but to sever the present 3 posions, as when there's no conditions(yuan) for the seeds, the seeds CANNOT grow. Just like you stop watering the seeds, how can the seed grow? Get the theory? We don't say we delete the past seeds/cause, as Buddha also cannot.
Because Buddha is All-knowing which mean sever ignorance, He is able to manipulated His conditions, in order to help sentient beings understand.
Falling ill is just a way of telling people that 'Hey, the body is not lasting. ' But actually, Buddha already severed ignorance of attachment when He attain Enlightenment. So no matter what He do, He's selfless, hence had already ended His suffering rebirth.

Yes, it is impossible to remove past karmic cause. As I have mentioned before, I have brought someone (who have some psychic powers) to my dharma teacher before... who wishes to "burn away his karma" and even wishes to be completely freed from all karma by this life. My dharma teacher reminded him that it is impossible to do so - and pointed out that even Buddha had to suffer many karmic consequeunces over his 500 lives as a Bodhisattva in the Jataka Tales, and even as Buddha himself. The Buddhist way is by honest practise, purification of the mind etc.Originally posted by sinweiy:To add.

Meanings? To each his own. Perhaps you misunderstood what i meant. Maybe its not meant for you anyway. Perhaps then you will understand that there is no need to thank me. The Meaning behind his reply is obviously none of my concern. Its never the same as mine in the first place. Have a happy day!

Merry Meet Yunhaier,
Well said crystal child. All don't matter, why do one seek for answers? Maybe they are lost. Each person thinks by himself and whether he puts his thoughts to action or not, he is bound to leave traces in his mind be it more or less. His speech and action will also leave imprints in other people's minds depending on how they take to them, how receptive they are. These impressions, whether they be good or bad will accumulate to be a force which will trigger future action. The work & law of cause & effect known as "Karma"? Life and death are also governed by the law of cause and effect. All sentient beings do not live just one life but continues on like running water in a stream, in endless time, with an endless past and an endless future. The law of cause & effect is not restricted to just extension of Time but transcend all Realms of Existence. Emancipation of one's own mind from attachment isn't that what everyone here should try to achieve rather than seeking answer that is obviously nothing that ever-exist, Delusion aplenty in this realm of existence. Don't you think so?

Yes, therefore Ignorance is fundamental root of Samsara. Without ignorance, then 12 interdependant links of origination of Samsara will break, without ignorance, one is liberated.Originally posted by sinweiy:Repentance is indeed very powerful.
This is similar to a house which has been boarded up for ten thousand years. If the windows are suddenly opened to let the sunlight in, all darkness immediately dissipates. However long the period of darkness may have been, how can it fail to disappear?
btw ignorance is the root of hatred and greed. If one can uproot the ignorance root(ie Having Right View and Understanding), hatred and greed like the stem or leaves will just wither away.

In simple, Karma explains Good begets Good and Evil for Evil. But the relationship between Good and Evil is such that without either, the other would cease to exist. Our roles, missions, goals in life depends on which side we choose to play for... depends on how our self actualization and what fuel man to work for. (Hilter plays for Evil - his role (self actualization) on Earth, but as a result, the Goodness that follow after his Evil works - (inclusive of Singapore's realization that the British isn't dependable upon crisis like these and work herself to independance... and to where we are now), is in fact a karmic cycle that requires both Good and Evil to function.
P.S: Hurricane Katrina lay waste across its path, but Man stood firm and rebuilt what it have destroyed. The glory of Good could only be shown through the work of Evil. And Evil is neutralised through the effect of Good - essential for either side to repay karmic debts and gain cosmic learning. In CloUdiSm, Seventh Law of Love states: Love brings up everything unlike itself. And this so applicable here.
Cheers
Wonder what would a world full of 'Hitlers' be like? Would the original Hitler still be considered 'evil'?Originally posted by Yunhaier:In simple, Karma explains Good begets Good and Evil for Evil.
