what does fame do?

Hi, in maple, there is this fame thing and I heard tat it involves guild and wearing of certain clothes <---may I noe what type of clothes?
Does fame affect the chance of getting a rare drop from the monsters? -
an example.
level 40 archer top, for female..
dark pietra need 20 fame... white pietra normal...just need to make sure u got 40 str and the required dex... if there's any requirement for dex
another example.
blackbull 2nd quest requires 10 fame. -
