First things first, I'd like to enlighten you all on a feature known as... the search button
1. Go the top right hand corner of forum, you'll see a function known as 'Quick Search'.
2. Type in what you want to search
3. It will provide you with a list of topics that contain what you want to search for

A: MSEA -maplesea (southeast asia which includes: Singapore, Malaysia & Thailand)
OMS/GMS -official/global maple story (everywhere else)
KMS -korean maple story (korea)
JMS -japanese maple story (japan)
CMS -china maple story (china)
Q: Where is the avatar simulator?

Please be careful in any name selection. Read the Terms of Use and respect all our rules regarding character name selection. If you have a character name that goes against our terms of service, please delete the character and start anew. For characters with unacceptable names created before 13th May 2005, the administrator shall rename the characters. Players unsatisfied with the renaming can opt to delete their character(s). For simple reference, avoid :
Impersonation of GM names, NPCs, other chars
Sexual context
Obscene body organs
Vulgarity or otherwise offensive, or may cause confusion
Drug/Narcotic references
Action phrases or complete sentences such as "Youwillnotsurvive", "defameme", "killme".
Names that is or may be illegal or is or may be protected by trademark or other proprietary rights laws
Names reference hacking such as "haaacker", "goodbotter"
Names that make no sense or created to confuse other users with letter masking such as "0liveOlL", "lksdjflij". (i.e. switching "i"s for "L"s and zeros for the letter "o" ).
Otherwise inappropriate.
If we believe you have created an account to mislead, confuse or annoy other players with the spelling of the name, the administrator will either ban or rename you. Q: Why can't I do the Nella Quest?
A: keep clicking until you get it. sometimes you have to click many times before she decides to give you the quest. by clicking continuously, you can even do quests ahead of your level.
Q: Red hearted earrings? where can i get them from?
A: mushmom or the lvl 50 sabitrama jump quest. after doing the jump quest once, you will have a 10% chance of getting red hearted earrings (90% chance of ores).
Q: Are there Private servers?
A: No
Q: What are some tricks to scrolling?
A: There are NO tricks to scrolling. Scrolls are labelled 10%, 60%, and 100% for a reason.
Q: Where did Maplestory originated?
A: Korea
Q: I've got hacked!!!!!!
A: Most likely you have given your password to someone who wasn't as trustworthy as you thought, or you've downloaded a keylogger.
Q: What's the best job?
A: Do what job you like and enjoy the best in the long run.
Q: Does luk/fame affect drop rates/scrolling?
A: Luk doesn't affect drop rates. Fame doesn't affect drop rates. Luk doesn't affect scrolling. Fame doesn't affect scrolling. -
Hunting Tips:
*I will add more commonly asked questions as I see them. Feel free to PM me @ sweetevil or post a question if you want to see it in this thread.*If you do not pick up your items within the designated time (~10 secs) other people can pick them up and will do so.
*If you're being ksed (had your kill stolen) it is wise to simply shrug off and change channels. it is a waste of time and energy if you were to retaliate because sometimes it's unintentional; sometimes it is intentional. Just move on.
*Fighting lots of creatures which are easy to kill is sometimes a lot better for experience than fighting one big creature.
*If you do decide to trade fame with someone, be careful that they may be a cheater and whatsnot and not fame you, only trade if you trust someone.
*To create keyboard shortcuts, have your hotkeys open (the box with shift, ins, del, ctrl, pgup, pgdown, end, home listed) and either open your inventory (for potion/item hotkeys) or skill box (for putting skills/spells at your hotkeys). Click and drag whatever item/skill icon you want into the box on which key you'd like to be the hotkey. It'll stay there and every time you hit that key, it'll use that item or skill. The same can be done with the [I]key settings [/I] (you can move sit/attack/etc and designate (for example) 'F' for one of your skills/items.)[/quote]Helpful Links:
