I know, this post is gonna make me so black. (As in I will be hated by many.)
But I do not like Lil' Nyonya.
Why? They say some people requested to cut off Yi Nan Wang, but hello, which one more draggy? And Jeanette definitely does not fit to play Juxiang/Yueniang. I still suggest Fel and Nat as the roles. I would change the whole script if it was me okay. Like, Fel end up with Nat in the end (as opposed to Jeanette NOT ending up with 715.) But Fel was already casted as Anqi -.- And ohmygosh her hair looked weird in the first episode (Fel I mean) And Nat is a HongKongian. Sweetness.
I didn't like the plot really. And it DEFINITELY IS NOT THE SG VERSION OF WAR AND BEAUTY.
However, I enjoyed the big reunion thing a few days ago. It was real funny. And the part where Zzen and 715 rode the horses then they had to do the stunt thing. LOL!
And can someone enlighten me on what the hell is "huan wo ji tang 还我鸡汤"?

at the starting when 715 met yueniang, he accidentaly knock down yueniang's 鸡汤''
from then on wheneven yueniang see 715, she will say "还我鸡汤"

Jeanette Aw acting is lousy. if she wins the best actress must be the biggest joke of the tcs. Xiangyun act better than her. And this Nonya show is not truely a peranakan based facts. All my peranakan friends all shake their heads. the whole show is misleading everyone what is not true about peranakan. Failure show consider a 5/10 show. Basically its becos tcs long time never show this type of show. Disappointing drama.

its more based on malacca peranakan... instead of singaporean peranakan... -
its a so so show. If you think peranakan behaves what they are filming that way, we wont agrue with you. You are just too ignorant person. Jeanette Aw acting is always no expression one. Oh sorry, always the same old expression and only one type.

I observed the popularity of Little Nyonya and wish media corps can dub it into nyonya dialect (mix of english, malay and hokkien). I am sure it will generate more interest in the local drama as most elderly singaporean can understand the nyonya dialect. It could also be selling point in Malaysia and Indonesia which have larger markets for TV drama.

SINGAPORE: Singapore's hit TV series "The Little Nyonya", produced by MediaCorp, is going to France.
The series will be sold to international broadcasters at the world's largest television trade show MIPTV in Cannes at the end of March.
The series showcases the region's Peranakan heritage and stars Qi Yuwu and Jeanette Aw, who will also be in Cannes.
The show has already been bought by broadcasters in Cambodia, China, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
The effort at MIPTV is spearheaded by the Media Development Authority. A total of 10 companies will be there, with 41 television titles for sale or distribution.
One title expected to do well at MIPTV is the cartoon "Dinosaur Train". It is made by Singaporean production house Big Communications in collaboration with The Jim Henson Company, which produced "Sesame Street" and "The Muppets".
"Dinosaur Train" has already been purchased by broadcasters in Norway and Canada. TV stations from France, Australia and Germany have also expressed interest in this 40-episode animated series. -

Oh, so 还我鸡汤 means that.
By the way, even though I seriously hate Jeanette Aw's acting as Yueniang, it will be shocking to see her NOT winning Star Awards. Because TCS pushed back SA for Lil' Nyonya, and if she doesn't win TCS would be pelted by rotten eggs.
And I AM rather glad that DYT didn't make into Top10 favourite guys.
