  I notice there are many Filipino workers being employed in the F&B and Hospitality Industries in Johor Bahru and I presume in Kuala Lumpur too, especially in KLCC. They told me that their employers provided for them Accomodations and Food for free.

  This is the trend and mindset of Malaysian young and old workers in JB. They prefer to work in Singapore because Singapore dollars exchange currency rate is high when convert to Malaysian Ringgit. They want to make fast money and they look at it like their business. This still happens eventhough the Malaysian Government has enforced the mandatory minimum salary scale of RM900 for Malaysian and Foreign workers alike. But I guess Malaysians are paid higher than foreign workers. Currently, the Malaysian Government is proposing to increase the minimum salary scale to RM1000. So, what happen is that Foreign Workers are taking those jobs in Johor Bahru that Malaysians (Johoreans) do not want to work, especially in the Service Sector.

  Just a thought to share here. I think Singaporeans who live in Johor Bahru can offer private tuition there. Private tuition in Johor Bahru is a big trend/market in JB or Malaysia for that matter, especially for Chinese parents/students.
