Does Starbucks employ people waiting for results ?

I am 18 this year, and am waiting for my A level results/start of uni in August.
According to Starbucks website, minimun commitment is 6months. But will Starbucks be interested in hiring me if i can only commit the minimum? Or are they looking for people who can commit indefinitely.
Applied to many Starbucks but still haven't heard back from any, could my situation be the reason why?
