Im recently looking for a part time job and chanced upon an ad online recruiting workers in supermarkets. So i cslled the number and the lady over the phone was from an employment agency. She told me to go down to the supermkt for an interview n so i did. After that, she told me that i needed to make a trip down to the agency to sign some papers. Then she brought out this whole list of rules for the working contract like how i needed to work at least 6 days a week, MUST WORK ON WEEKENDS, CAN'T TAKE MC, even if like i get into some accident. AND THE LIST GOES ON. And then it says at the bottom, any violation of the rules will incur a $500 PUNISHMENT FEE. Im asking if this is actl normal because i'm supposed to be a part-timer with flexible working hours and yet she wants me to adhere to all these rules EVEN AFTER THE SUPERMARKET STAFF SAYS THAT I CAN DECIDE MY OWN SCHEDULE. Anyone can give me some advice??

sound like weird charlize.
Well, there is a difference between part-time staff and temporary staff...
Working hours are usually determine by the company. Full time staff usually works for longer hours in a week. Part time simply does less hours (less shift or half duration shift) in a week. Those that come when needed are called Temporary staff.
It's quite normal since the hiring company determines the shift and roster...
The only advice is, if you are uncomfortable then dun sign up with them, look elsewhere for job...
