Where can I report employer with bad ethical practice, abusing employment act, mentally, verbally and physically abusing employees? This local company who keep employing staff for bogus positions, then place them in any vacant position if anybody left abruptly. They make them sign unfair contract, and with no leave and medical benefit. Everyone is made to sign an agreement not to discuss or gather, not allowed to ask each other their job scopes. They make some staff sit just 1 meter away from the aircon airway, switch to lowest temperature, and not allowed to adjust the aircon temp, only manager can adjust, which never do. Every staff must sit upright at all times, cannot rest their back on the chair.
Almost every employees who resign will have bad experience with the company, either they are left unpaid or have to pay back company salary in lieu. If the contract staff tender resignation, they will strongly disapprove and threaten them that they can't afford to pay salary in lieu for the rest of the contract period. For those with no contract, they would want them to give 2 months notice for self resignation, but in that period of time, they will find fault to dismiss or terminate their service and not give them their pay. For those who left without notice period, they will offer to pay their salary but, in return the employee will have to pay back the 2 months notice salary in lieu. They will converse everything in letter writing and no negotiation is allowed. For those who are forced to stay in the company, they will be verbally abused and treated like lowly pests. The management will find the slightest fault to dismiss or terminate their service, and not give them their pay. Those helpless employees turned to MOM to get back their salary but no result. How do we deal with this kind of employers?
Pool money and hire a lawyer to represent you...

if i were u....before u sign up.....look thru thru employment letter before accepting job.no choice ...take it back n read it again.finish ,next day come n sign employment letter.come across a few companies in spore like what u described but i read thru before i signed up.
be smart.....by not wasting effort on these compoanies.
Worst still, the company don't give the employees a duplicate copy of the letter of appointment. Something fishy? They like to hire young new graduate Malaysians and Singaporeans, so they don't really know employment act. The company make them sign on the 1st day of work, no time for them to bring home and read.

name , shame and sued
best not to list the name out.
Remember they forced employees to sign not to communicate with each other? How to pool together and sue the company. Later the company can sue us back that we gather and discuss co. stuffs. They really know how to cover their backside. Moreover, most of us are penniless, no money to sue... Sigh...
Singapore Free Legal Clinic : http://legalclinics.sg
But we really don't know based on which law to charge them, they say they go by the employment act.. Govt no law to control abusive employer, and we have no right to resign without notice, if it' not violence threat.
Anyway, I've decided not to buy their products so as not to increase their sales. Hopefully they will go out of business, and they can no longer bully more innocents.
Sigh.. I used to love their Korean airtight plastic containers...
easy sabotage the company, threaten the boss, create a scene in the company, damage their properties,go directly to mom to report.u must be brave to do such things or else they think they (the rich)can intimidate us!speak up and fight for ur rights.nothing is worse than a coward hiding and let situations overwhelm them!
Many people actually informed the SCDF to report them, as they always put their plasticwares and paper boxes all over the place, even to the extend that they block the exit of the office. But the SCDF will always call the co. to 'clean up' the place 1st, before going down to check. Even if the SCDF really find anything, they only gave them warning. No effect at all.
If we go down and destroy their properties, we will face criminal sentence instead.
A lot of them turned to MOM to get their salary back, but til now no news.
If the co. can sack an employee due to bad conduct, without notice period or compensation. Why can't us 'sack' the employer due to bad conduct too, without notice period too?!!
From your text, I can see that you are an introvert who don't dare to say no.
Change your personailty
If I'm an introvert, I won't be speaking up for my fellow colleagues and asking advise here.
Personality can't be easily changed. Anyway, what has personality got to do with this matter?

Protesting in Singapore is illegal! Lol
Got Interesting News ? The New Paper hotline: 1800-7334455 , email: [email protected] , Fax : 63198266 , usually if you prefer, you can be anonymous when give interview.
In between, is your company an foreign company or local ? Cos I never heard local company which have such an "weird" practice. And if you joined the company under MLM scheme as an distributor (based on what you said you will not buy their products) instead of being their employee, your case might be a little "tricky".
We are all on either perm or contract employment. I have never met this kind of employer too. They are carrying very famous plastic products and you can find their products all over Singapore major supermarts.
Wonder if this is really news to the press?
Heard the co. is demanding a Malaysian pregnant lady more than $20k salary in lieu, due to resignation without notice. She quit mainly due to mental torment from the management and no maternity leave.
