Being retrenched would be a major blow for anybody that were not ready for it....one day you are making $ and buying expensive houses/cars, then suddenly all those gone....have to reorganize your life and move on....if you are the sole breadwinner in the family, u may have more problems than if you're single....

Nowadays, job security is very tough....usually for some companies, especially those with projects, will hire people to do the projects, when the projects are done, they will be fired...more and more companies follow this method of operation....
