Hi im new here in forum.
Is it possible for me to study while waiting and applying for my job?
I'm a foreigner 21yrs old my real concern is to work here in singapore. studying is my 2nd concern.
so. My plan is study to have student pass(so I can stay here longer, while waiting for a job) then apply for a job, then if ever I got a job, I will stop my studying and work full time for a job.
Do you think i will able to do that?
or
is there's any law here in Singapore that I am about to violate if I do that?
Sorry for my bad english.
Why not? Just exchange your student pass for a work permit.
If you are granted a student pass and you wish to find/apply for a job in Singapore, you will need to apply for a work pass. This pass can be apply from the Ministry of Manpower website. If you are caught working in Singapore without a work pass, you will be deported back to your country.
Empolyers in Singapore tends not to hire student pass holder because not all student pass holder holds work pass permits. If the student is caught, both the student and the company will be in trouble. However, student pass holder is very attractive to empolyers because of the low starting pay.

If I am not wrong, you can actually work part-time with a student pass, but not exceeding a certain number of hours (20 hours per week i think) and also provided you have already been here for x number of years.
