I'm a marketing under-grad...the Marcom agencies seem to be the "big 4'' equivalent to what accountancy graduates are seeking for employment, for eg. PWC,KPMG...
How do these agencies...like DDB,Saatchi and Saatchi, ogilvy and mather seek and employ new people?..These agencies seem too big to go through the normal channels to employ new people.Rarely see them advertise online through job portals..they seem very secretive.
I know that these big agencies there are quite a few big departments such as creative, media and account servicing. For creative, what are those junior/entry positions called? Copywriters?..my knowledge is that these personnel mainly major in communications and media studies for their under-grad studies? needs to be proficient in their english.Thats what i was told of by lecturers..bit unsure, need some enlightenment from industry practitioners. The impression i got was that marketing graduates are more suitable for account servicing jobs, actting as the middle men between clients and creative department.
How about the media department?..the media purchasing department..junior positions are called? media buyers?..that's what i know from books..secretive again..i see no employment ads by these agencies for positions on the recruitment channels.
Would appreciate comments and enlightenment from industry practitioners about the above questions and probably experiences working in the industry.
