Can someone enlighten me on what other jobscope is in for a MARCOM position other than marketing campaigns bonds with clients etc etc?
depends on what industry and what kind of co.
hey, depends on the marketing activities. Some work round the clock. It is a very demanding jobs. Depends on your marcom roles. Write up, proofreading, sales brochures, liaising with sales department, exhibition, liaise with media, advertising firms ..... provide promotion materials......
Being involved in Marketing Communications means you will be involved in all the marketing activities of your company.
This will include, brain storming new ideas for road shows, trade events etc, creating (if there isn't a creatives department) or briefing and managing the collatral and promotional materials (online/offline) or the outsourced company who do it for the company, preparing guest lists, events management and reporting to the marketing manager. Basically you will work yourself 24/7 during peak times and basically nothing a other times. And yes, you will also be constantly meeting new clients to grow your business, basically forming alliances and partnerships along with the business development team.

PR and marcom are different. Marcom means marketing communications is meant for supporting marketing, sales activities, strategies. PR is on a broader base as representing the company, in charge of upkeeping the image and reputation of the company, be spokespersons for the company, organise press conference, meet reporters for interviews, write articles. Be there for any crisis to report.
