I am an undergrad looking for a Temporary Job now. Thus, I am looking at recruitment agencies to get a job. Problem is, I've did some research and many people spoke about bad experiences with these agencies.
1) Hidden charges. Like how you secure the job and must pay administrative fees.
2) Exploitive rates. The company pays around $10/hr but you only get $6/hr. There is CPF but the agency takes around $2-3/hr which IMO is quite outrageous.
3) Contracts that puts temps at disadvantage. I am aware that if a temp decides to terminate the job before the 1 month, he/she will be required to pay the company 1 month worth of salary.
I understand these agencies must profit and contracts are meant to protect employers but as a consumer, I would prefer to make the most out of my time (Earning marginally more money per hour).
Thus, would it be more suitable to look for temp job without going through these agencies. What do you think? If you think...
YES. Kindly please recommend trustworthy agencies. Names of these agencies are greatly appreciated.
NO. Where can I look for temp jobs (Websites) by contacting directly with the companies/firms.
