looks has nothing much to do with the job, more about your capability and experience and past track record. however, it doesn't hurt to have good looks because that's a bonus, i mean, as unfair as it sound, it may be true that people prefer to hire people who are nice looking since they will be working with them on a daily basis.
good looks doesn't mean just that look you're born with, i also mean personal grooming and all that. like shave clean, look nice, smell nice, don't whole body smelly go interview, etc...

Well, I dun think that looks would put one at a huge advantage (or disadvantage otherwise) unless yr applying to be a model, aircrew, etc. Obviously your skill set and what u can bring to the table would be more important. But yes, good grooming definitely plays a part ! Err.. I happen to know a top sales guy who looks like Lao Fu Zi...
