China Grads Not Enuff Jobs - Are S'poreans worried?

Are Sg grads worried that the China grads may be employed into Singapore for the high -paying posts since their salaries will be lower?
Today's papers say that so many highly qualified China grads cannot find good jobs. I do think Sg may get a load of them over.My stupid boss be one of them.Damn!

Standard asking salary by PRCs is $1200 for uni grads.

their usual starting pay is only RMB2k-2.5k in china so SGD1.2k is shiok shiok til die to them already... -

hmm. but they earn 1.2k here minus $500 rent a month left $700.they can't really save much after paying for food, hp bill, transport etc..

The top jobs got Angmo, the lower jobs got Fil/Banga/thai, now the mid jobs got China, we can't breathe anymore....I like to close my eyes and think that its ok, but trends are rapidly changing....My company hires alot of China grads as middle managers.

700 still is 3.5k RMB.

Just slowly, slowly change and do some small business, soon or later we will all be retrenched either because of old age, maybe around 40 or because of cheaper, better, faster workers. Things will just grind itself to dust. No way government will care, in fact, they urge us all to fight for jobs and fight for it til the day we all roll dirt.

Will u hire a S$2.5K China grad with 10 yrs of experience, or a local grad for S$5k? As an employer, I think the answer is pretty obvious....

y nt?nowadays nt like last time. u still think is ancient china? after 100 years a rebell army started to form and overthrown that and that? or u think is thai? or viet?under military control.come on. singaporean only wanna have a stable life.they don dare to take suuch risk even if they like pap.
now u wanna protest also must get a approval from police and tell them which way u gonna march.out of bound=arrest.

I think its easy to get a lower than S$1k pm job. More than that will be very competitive....Too many China grads around S$1.2k to S$3.5k.

yup. planning to do that. but no capital... be employee first... gather all the experience first... and when its time ... just enter the market as a small businessman. =)

Yup, setup a small business (eg. food related), will be cool! Better then working for a lousy boss. Very soon, even the middle paid jobs will be snatched up by China grads....

It is inevitable that the China people be coming as they are willing to work long hours for a much lower pay.So I think the best is that we do our best to outshine them. If not, we have to give way to them.Singapore is a very practical country.
