Hi All, i have tried my best and have been encouraging myself to stay on the job for at least a year. However, lately my health isn't getting too good. I have minor aching pain at my heart area and lately i have developed this nausea feeling. It is an ominious sign that i need to relax and not work so hard. I also have seen a doctor regarding the nausea feeling but the doctor don't know what wrong with me.. so i guess it is due to stress...
I wanted to quit my current job but i don't intend to line up one before i quit because i hope that i can spend a month or so resting and exercising.... nurse myself back.... unless i can secure a job that allows me to take a break before commencing my new job.
The problem is my resume - It will not look so good if i have stated that i have been in this job for only 8 months or if i manage to stay on until CNY, it will be around 10 months.
What can i explain to my prospective employers next time if they ask me why didn't i stay on the job and choose to move on? Should i leave this 8 months gap out of my resume?
Please advise me... thanks
Say the truth about your pain at the heart area
Yup! Just say u took time-off to cure your illness. I'm sure your future employer will understand that. Never lie in interviews. Nowadays they will check throughly.
I'm not suffering from a major illness....... how do i explain that i'm taking time off to recover.. hmmm...
Will i be giving an impression that i cannot work under pressure ?
Just say the truth lor. Nothing beats the truth. Dun worry so much....Your health is more important than getting a job, right?
Yen-J, how old are you? Working as?

You are a guy? if not can say you have "ladies illness" and so you taking a break..
just put inside lor. probably your job got lots of smokers that's why. during interviews just explain to your employers no need t hide. and i am sure your next job you are not going to go into related positionns. you yourself know the best what went wrong. if you in construction need to go site probably the environment is bad for your health to take it. diff people got diff health level. your next interview probably will be a desk related post in the similar industry so telling the truth won;t impact that much in the application if your future boss is smart ennough.
even if you don;t put anything sowhat? you have the right not to put everything in if you feel some jobs your took are not worthy to be called a job.
