Job dilemma

we work because we need the money. we hated our job but stayed on because we needed the money. its a vicious cycle here. we worked, hated our job and our bosses and worked till our retirement.
some people after retirement, came out working as cleaners or in fast food restaurants or security guards, because they needed the money, hence they will work till they die. so sad. thats the dilemma we faced in our working life, sigh......

Thats why we gotta save every single cent we earned so that we wun need to work so long! =)

how much does it take you to save in hard cash, $400,000? 20 years enough?
even then $400,000 is enough for you after retirement?

There is a way to get out of this dilema.
That is to commit suicide.
The answer now is how to commit suicide which is 100% guarantee that you will die and to reduce the pain as much as possible?

committing suicide is the easier way out, but does it solve the problem, no. when u commit suicide, you also need to suffer pain, not to mention ignominy of it and the grief it brings.

when you are dead you no longer have any problems unless of course you belive in retribution etc and are scare that you will go to hell.
The pain that you suffer before yoru death is a short one. There is a chinese saying "It is better to suffer a short while than for a long time"

no wonder there are a lot of sucides in this world, not only in Singapore. a coward chose the easiest way out.

courage are those who live life till they die naturally ie die of old age or illness and not those who commit suicide, get that straight.

life is like that, got happiness and unhappiness, like a yo yo ride, like a roller coaster stock market. so when a child is unhappy, he/she go commit suicide?

not everybody's life got happiness and unhappiness. Some people the whole life only got unhappiness.

I was thinking like Rooney9 when I was 20+.
Now, I think the other way as I have enough for me to stop work and living on passive income.
BUT I LOSE MOTIVATION TO MAKE MONEY !!! which is very miserable.
Firstly, he got the wrong mindset, he should quit if he hates his job - get a job which he like. Learn and excel in it.

You are in the wrong forum, grumbly old woman. Whine forum is a more suitable place for you. You have been whining from one thread to the other. You have to realise that not everyone hates his job.

The amount of money, be it more or little you saved over the years, you will be able to see the fruits.
Dont give up. Save as much as possible.

You will be suprised to know that ronney9 is in his 30s.
You are great to be able to make enough passive income to stop work. Alot of people including me wants to have passive income but we do not know how to do it.
It is not easy to get a job that you like.
I have tried to apply for jobs that I like, went for interviews and did not get selected.
I doubt ronney9 even knows what type of jobs he likes in the 1st place..

If you do not have housing loan and already have your own flat which you inherit from your parents who are dead than life will be easier as you only need to pay for meals, transport, electricity etc which can be minimised to just $500 a month and you can save alotf.
You can even rent out some rooms of your flat to earn more money.

I think 8 out of 10 dont like the present job, but no choice, need to survive, need the salary, ned to feed the family members and childrens.

That is the reality of things.
We cannot choose cos what is available may not be what we want.
So, some have to do some job they can endured for some years before they can save enough to pursue what they want to do later.
But, the years that they are enduring may be wasted.
One cannot get the best of the world unless your lao pei and lao ma are rich in the 1st place.
