My friend was diagnosed with kidney failure and he need time to go hemodialysis. The day he found he have this sickness, his company fired him without any compensation.
Can he demand any compensation under the mom rules etc?
did the contract say he is liable to be fired if sickness detected?
was he hiding the fact he was sick or wat?

No contract never stated this. Amd he did not hide the sickness. He was at end stage when he found out about it.
He called back company then company fired him. So i am thinking if this is a fair issue and want to help him .
can go MOM first to see wat they can do
or else, get a lawyer to fight
which will waste time waste money but may be able to seek justice finally
Sad to hear that such company still exists in Spore where Business Doesnt Care for Employees. They only care for Business Growth and Profit.
Yes, go to MOM to seek help about the sudden termination and seek advice about the compensation amount.

really must see the appointment letter / contract. standing on both sides of the view and after i have been working for a while i observe.
some companies give very good benefits to employees, to the point that employees take for granted and many misuses it. the tends to use all teh claims they can get e.g dental they just go and make friends with the dentist and in their teeth maintenance bills just buy toothpaste and claim inside, also some allow claims for any doctors so the employees make friends with their neighbourhood old doc to get MC and medicine and no need to work before or after holidays, or when company deopartment got problem they need to siam. some doctors are no saint either, ever see one that smiles when they diagnosis some symptome for you to go further review they write recommendation letter when some of your health parameters is higher?
at employer's level many are maintening their presence in sg due to very high expenditure here. so they cut this and cut that. some employees sjust have to be happy they have basic, OT claims, overseas allowance/ reimbursement, some medical cliams etc. i bet they should also buy overrseas insurance for employees better check just in case go overseas got any siaoarhpi problem or accidents.
since no good faith in warning us by naming the company i wonder what joy is there for TS to post this anyway?
