hi everyone~!! I recently just applied for senior officer ICA online last 16 July. I still haven get any reply or call from them for interview. is this consider normal?? How long usually they will take before they call u if you shortlisted for an interview? Anione experience or going thru the same thing pls share. :)
I ever tried applying for govt jobs online too over the years. Never ever got a single reply. Must have been marked by govt for the naughty things I said about them.
did the ad not say "only shortlisted candidates would be notified" ?
Yup they did state there only shortlisted would be notified. Just want to noe roughly whether is it normal for them to take this long. I did ask around and some said they called for interview after a month they apply. Some even said 3 months. Thats super long. At least they got the job and now they working in ICA and loving it. haha!.
And one more thing. I graduated with a degree from Lasalle. Is it becos my cert is not regconized..sorry i ask so many question. Got lots of things to clarify. At least i asked. :)
you only apply on the 16th july leh... now it's only 28th.... wait until aug.... they will get back to you one, dun worri... they need a lot of officers, regardless junior or senior officers.
Yeah they do need a lot considering the high turnover rate.
haha..thanx so much everyone for your replies! i feela bit less worried now. I have a few job interview 2mr but i really want senior officer job with ica. Good job prospect :) happy cells, u seems very confident with ur reply. U have frens applying for this job too? Or you one of them..haha
well.... if i tell you then i have to kill you.. haha.. anyway, i can tell you most likely you will get the job one, unless you yourself screw it up lah... wait for the good news...
hahah..err..okay. Thx again all!!
why don't you call up the ICA HR people?
i cnt find their contact info online. Nvr put HR number.? I really feel like calling them. The wait is making me so frustrated.
only 12 days and you are feeling frustrated already? have some patience lah.... they will call you one...
okok....i go chill first. or yar since many ppl reply here, i want to ask another qn. Anyone know any gym (cc or anywhere) at west side area that is cheap? Maybe prefer those pay per use. Not those membership type. I want to try gym, instead of my usual jogging routine outside (at neighbourhood park). cos the weather really unpredictable now. Sometime rain sometime super hot.

use the general enquiry number to enquire the HR number. if they recognize the degree, they will at least call you up for interview…
x2
wanted to state this point.
But lasalle degree recognise meh?
u graduated with a degree in arts school and you don't wanna pursue something related to your degree. Why did you get the degree in the first place?
there are many ppl who got into jobs that are totally irrelevant to their studies... it will be a total bliss if someone can really work in their area of studies. Doctor become a singer, you heard before?
fyi, i did work for a design firm during my diploma years. Quit and became an associate trainer for design and media as a part time while taking my degree for a year. I thought of converting to a full time but to realize that the incentive was more or less the same to a part time. Im still looking for better jobs, and not limiting myself to only design scope jobs. To see you questioned me why i took my degree in the first place just show how shallow minded you are. Like what happy cells mention, many people nowadays got jobs that are totally irrelevant to their studies. Im saying here, theres nothing wrong to get into jobs that are totally out of our studies subject. And its also not becos i want to just "testing" with the jobs. Esp gov jobs. I gave it a proper thought. Talked to the people who are more experienced than me and no doubt this is the choice i already made. Im not mad or angry, just frustrated with people who doesnt know how to give tactful comments.
How many ppl in the world will actually able to do what they like to do? I took Engineering and I end up now with a job totally irrelevant to it.
So that's life...
It doesn't matter what jobs you're doing, in fact all jobs are the same. It's not what you're getting from your job, it's what you're becoming.
