anyone know when will i receive the writs of summon is there a stipulated timeframe before the letter of demand expire? or is he required to send the writs of summon by 2-3 weeks?

Once you receive your writ of summons, you HAVE to get a lawyer to file a counterclaim, failure to do so will have an unfavourable judgement passed in court against you.

Thank you so much Beta and the rest so now i just have to wait, he's wasting my time and i am desperately want to end this fast so that i can find a new job and just make a simple living

ok i just received a copy of the employment contract it states that there will be a breach of contract when:
-failure to perform duties and resposibility
-failure to use the utmost of your ability to promote the company
-failure to obey orders
-fail to observe all the rules and regulation
-divulging out of information of the company
-carry on a private trade that is similar to the nature of business with the company
-behave in an improper manner
-conduct dealings which might affect the image of the company
any breach will make you liable for dismisal from the management without prior notice.
Here is the part that state the contract bond:
-The contract entitles employee of perks and are able to attend training courses.
-If you are to leave the company for any reason including those from the above breaches mention. the staff is laible to pay equivalent amount of salary for the remaining period of the bond, not inclusive of penatly charges.
So these are roughly the exact clauses of the contract and its stated that there is a 30 day notice period. Even if u tender within the 30 days you are still liable to pay for the thing. . .

i have receive the letter of demand last week but still no writ though and am still waiting for the police to finish their investigation. its already being 2 weeks though.

update ar called the police yesterday, he said that he will write a recommendation to the prosecution side. wonder what that means. This is for the cbt case. And when ask the police when can end the case, they say not so fast.(police case don't close can't find job as there is 1 term in the application form that need you to declare whether you are under any police investigation or not and once you tick yes. Then my ex employee also didn't give me last month pay)
Will be meeting up with a lawyer soon, to discuss about the letter of demand given.

no i can't post those its stated in my letter of demand as a clause that i can't disclose the company's name etc.its sad as i would like to warn future employees of this kind of company

I think anybody with common sense will not work for a company that requires them to sign any contract asking them for compensation if they leave the company..

true the prints were in very fine print next time sign anything need to bring magnifying glass already haha.anyway no writ of summons means i can carry on with my life now just need to wait for police to finish investigation

Maybe the writ of summons will come to you in a couple of weeks or months time..

If he is willing to spend money to engage a lawyer to issue a letter of demand than he will definetly apply for the writ lah.
If not you just ignore it than he will have wasted money to engage a lawyer for nothing

What does the letter of demand require of you? Compensation for breach of contract or turning up in court? If you repeatingly ignore a letter of demand, it might prompt a writ to eventually be issued right? Also mind sharing what did your lawyer advise you to do??

same letter say pay up within the stipulated date or legal action will be taken. the advice given was until a writ is issued, they can't do anything as well. also don't know when will the police investigation end, they haven't call me or my friend back for any rounds of statement taking or interigation for 1 month le.But the investigation officer was very helpful and proffessional.
And may i ask writ of summon can be delivered by mail or hand right?

ok latest update, the investigation officer said that there is no case and he is waiting for the prosecution side to conclude the case. may i ask anyone know how long will the prosecution side normally take? thank god Singapore has a very transparent and efficient legal system.

i have no idea dechang i don't want any troubles though once the case close i can finally move on with my life and maybe start finding some decent company to work in. but if he wants to take civil action then i have to defend already. so far still no writ of summon though
