it depends...some hawkers barely break even. if ur food sells well, at least 2-3k profit shd be reasonable.

The rental of the stall is from $ 5k to 15 k depending on location per month Then the electric and water bill is about $ 10 k plus per month Hawker assistant is about $ 500 to $ 800 dollars per month Now you are selling a plate of chicken rice at $$ 4.50 dollars each, You need to sell at least about 184 plates to cover the basic cost in a month. That is 15 plates per hour for 12 month of opening time.
Those numbers u quote are more likely for the foodcourts. You can earn from -100k to 100k a month? Sure or not.
Should be 3K - 4K.
Do hawkers earn a lot of money? I see some drive mercedes.
rental of stall, 5-15k.
utilities, about 10k.
care to tell me how you get those figures, or are they guesses?

My aunt is renting her stall out at $12 k per month at Bedok Central. Her stall is worth at about $500k now.
My neighbour is selling chicken rice, earning about $4.5 K per month.
My friend who owns a hovercraft, is a "you tiao" seller and he calculate his car parking by the no of you tiao.
My other aunt own a bubble tea shop, getting a margin of $1.5k
If you want to be a hawker, make use you have a good receipe, good location. You need to get the hawker stall, food stall, food shop license from NEA. If remember you need to have a medical check up and attended some course first.
You must register you hawker assistant under NEA. And they need to have license if they wan to cook.
My family use to do resturant you wan to know how much do resturant owner, cook and waiter earn too?
How much they earn I dunno but the income is good. Hawkers drivimg merce, living in private property, wearing Rolex watch
doesn't matter how much you earn, better sell clean food....that's important else how much you make will also be lost eventually...know what i mean
I tell you they make 1,000,000 dollars. so you want to be a hawker?
I have ever thought switching line to be hawker leh, changed my mind cos mum said I cannot take it that the job requires the person to stand very long.
That is true. Hawker life is quite tough. Long hours. The money may be good, but only the skilled earns that kind of money, those weaker ones can hardly make ends meet.
those smart one rent out the whole coffee shop and let other do the cooking for them . they collect rentals.
what about those that sell drinks? no super secret recipe needed, just sell cans, bottles, packets. then learn how to mak a decent milo, teh, coffee, bandung...or if want to specialize, can set up sugarcane shop.
how much an average drink shop makes?
(not talking about extra revenue that they get if they own the whole coffeeshop and rent out stalls...just the drink stall profit)
not every hawkers earn big bucks. after rental and other payment, they should take in a few k ba generally speaking. only those few and successful hawkers earned from 10k and above.

this one does not earn much. dont go for this one.
Anything from -$50K to +$50K a month........
drinks don't earn much...but earn...how much? after all, it is the easiest to do if you don't have a good recipe. purchasing of supplies, storage...all also easiest. effort also least. if profit is like 1-2k after all the 5-figure rental and risk, then maybe not worth it. if at least 3k...hmm maybe not so bad wotz.
i know a few hawkers
guy A) zips around town in a Evo 9. Has a home entertainment system worth 30K. Does not need to work much cos all his stall branches (around 10) has people handling. He just needs to go collect the earnings.
guy B) goes for holidays like nobody business. wears a 28K watch. His kid only wears branded clothing from head to toe. When i say branded here i dun mean guess kids or Oosh Kosh BUT ralph laren kids, burberrys kids, armani kids, etc.
a few other hawkers: quite comfortable earnings
i know a hawker staying behind my block. drives a camry. leaves at 0545/0600 everyday. comes back at 2000.
i know their stall at toa payoh. i stay tampines. my block has 3-room, 4-room units only...
Hawkers should make a lot of money....
My relatives who in the past tried to dabble in hawker stall earned about $1200 to $1800 nett. There are times where they got a loss too. And working hours is very long. Not only the time where you face the customers, also the "back scene" time where you need do up shop admin and prepare food to start the day.
