English and liberal arts majors struggle to make a decent living, while engineers enjoy high salaries - true or false?
The results from an American payscale report seem to support this hypothesis, where engineers and scientists fare better financially.
The website report lists 10 college majors that lead to high salaries. Here's a look at the top 10.
#1: Aerospace engineering is the top undergrad college degree by a mid-career median salary of $109,000, according to the PayScale College Salary Report.

agree....Sg is best know for being one of the world's premier financial centre and will continually do so... but we have seen the application of sciences and engineering greatly in demand to financial industry - notably physicist, electrical engineers, and even biologists... engineering will still command a stable and higher salary than average...but where the investment world is concerned....its about who makes the money that counts... even an ah beng with not much education but make it in the business world...could still be named by the Prime Minister during national day

these days engineering is the most shunned studies in the local unis, it's not seen as glamourous as banking jobs and also grads face competition from india and china engineer grads who can accept lower pay......many engineering grads become teachers soon after...

if you only look into the Singapore industry of couse this is not true. Because Singapore is going towards commercial abandoning the manufacturing industry.
in fact singapore's enginnering jobs are the "low" class engineering which is "low" level and it does not bring much niche.
This salary scale is on the global level, talking about the engineers who build REAL planes, fine circuit board, computer system. These engineers earn alot because they are hard to find. Genius dont exist everywhere.
BUT it is also not true. J K Rowling, Dan Brown, are rich English Writer. All the celebrities, artists earns millions from their films. So how to compare.
