I signed a letter of employment offered by a SME one month ago. However, I received a better offer since and decided not to join the SME. I notified the manager of the SME 2 weeks before my start start date, who obviously wasn't happy about it. As the SME applied for an EP and it's approved in-principal (I haven't collected it), the new company is unable to apply for an EP for me. The SME manager refused to cancel my EP as a "punishment".
I'm quite desperate to get the SME to cancel the approved EP. Anyone have such experience before? MOM told me it will take them 2-3 weeks to look into this matter if I report it but it's too long and the other company might withdraw their offer!
that is why I do not prescribed to Singaporean mentality of taking the offer that come to the table first and choose the better one cause at the end of the day it reflect your credibilities.
Even if there were no alternative offer you choose to take up relunctantly after probation you would still look for another job.....it is simply wasting of your time....
Good luck sorting this out. Don't think you are going to get any E.P.
