hi guys,
I got another job offer while my new EP has been processed by another company.
Basically this is the story, i was accepted an offer from ABC company and even has signed appointment letter with them, since i'm a foreigner they have to process my EP, and they did.
But then i got another offer from a company let say DEF company, they also want me to join their company ASAP. I did mention to them my current condition that i had signed an appointment letter with another company (ABC) and now they processing my EP already, but they (DEF) keep telling me that it is ok to cancel my new EP.
My question is, is it ok to apply another EP while new EP still in process?
Should i wait a new EP result first?
Oh yah, i've been working in Singapore for almost 4 years. Thank you for your advise / suggestion / thoughts.
regards,
lanes
hmm, seems it is okay for u but a bit risky.
go further, it is a bit unfair for the abc company as it trusts you but you don't really.
btw, what makes you changed ur mind? higher pay or brighter futuer? or other reasons?
hi Alex, thanks for your reply.
yes, i must admit that this is my fault.
no, not because a higher pay, in fact to be honest it slightly lower pay.
the main reason is that the DEF company offer long term career advancement with challenging R&D stuff, whereas ABC company even though also offer a permanent post but i foresee not much challenging on it.
thanks,
lanes
my suggestion? go back to ur own country and give these 2 job back to us..... thanks
to i-like-fings(m).
think abt it before you saying sth, dont just make noise.
to lanes, like this case i hv no comments but wish you all the best.
if u r a cheapo foreigner, just fuck off. If you're not, you welcome to lend ur ur expertise. Simple.
Talk to Abc company and ask for your contract back. The longer you drag, the worse it gets.

I'm referring to lanes, not you.
Best is to ignore the second job.
A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.
After you cancel the first, you will be at the mercy of the second.
lanes,
no offence intended,,,but are u choosy here????be it job prospects or salary wise....u are indeed one muddder fuggin choosy person from overseas.immigration officers would be very reluctant to grant you ep for second job.in fact an investigation could be launched by them on your company if there is even a lack of citizens vying for that job.in other words,u painted a target on yerself.
i should tell u that there is no shortage of skilled singaporeans or skiilled foreigners in singapore.
in singapore since 1980s onwards,,,they churn out close to 10,000 engineers annually from universities , singapore polytechnic, ngee ann polytechnic.french singapore institute and german singapore institute.
and practical side would be from ITE amounting to around 3000 technicians at least.
so techniccally, there shouldnt even be foreign workers coming into singapore unless they are rough and dangerous jobs that no sporean would do as in shipyards.
why dont u just get a singaporean citizenship instead?
foreigners like u shouldnt even be in singapore in the first place many decades ago........rather u should return back to burma or the phillippines.
u dont have what it takes to be a singaporean or even to be a citizen for that fact.
i dont mean to degrade u but from your true colours as stated here.............i wouldnt want to work with you even if u owned the company.
hi walkman.alex, TTFU, mancha, Hitman+
First of all, i would like to thank you for all valuable input & suggestion to me.
I make up my mind to go only for 1st company (ABC) that has been submitted my EP. To align with Hitman+ comment, yep i must admit i'm a bit choosy here and this is my mistake actually. I will consider spore' citizenship in the future.
For walkman.alex, TTFU and mancha, guys you are so nice, i think i owe you lunch :)
For others: pardon me, i totally understand you if you guys concern about this. But to be honest, i'm not applying this position, i was offered. In fact as you can read from the above, i try to tell the second company (DEF) that i've signed the AL already. BTW, i'm almost 40 and with my experiences (almost 15 years) in managing mission critical application, i love to contribute to spore.
Again, if i had any mistake, please pardon me. As i only ask your opinion.
Success to all of us.
thanks,
lanes
lanes, you should consider the 1st company first, since they acknowledge you as their employee already. good luck
