Well, I used to be one lol. Seems that Singapore has the highest number of civil servants per capita in the entire world.
singapore is unique, other country peoples as servants will serve the civil peoples, but in singapore, they serve themselve

that's why the civilians are so hard-up.....................too many parasites to feed.............don't forget SAF too........
PAP hire so many people to secure votes so the Lee Dynasty can rule for eternity................
anyway, Civil servants feed on GDP, once GDP goes up, paid goes up, but when GDP goes down, paid dun go down...likethesealsocan
haha i bet u civil servants out there are reading this but afraid to post. Surely everyone in singapore no matter who, where, what qualifications know at least a few uniformed regulars, teachers, public hospital doctors, poly/uni lecturers etc. If I'm not wrong, I think to say we have about 100 stat boards is an understatement.
well not all civil servants vote for PAP.
I use to be one, i always vote for opposition. still get promoted on tme,

How do you define a civil servant?
Most Singapore companies are owned by government leh.
Singtel, Starhub, Singapore Power, SIA, SilkAir, Tiger Airways, DBS Bank, POSB Bank, CapitaLand, Temasek Holdings, GIC, SBS Transit, SMRT, NTUC Supermarket, Downtown East Chalets .....
If you look carefully at shareholders' list, some major private corporations also have high amounts of government holdings.
civil servants dun vote for thunder party
later no promotion or increment right?

My dear,
When you are collecting money with the biggest profit margin in Singapore, do ask your staff or yourself to smile or put on a sour face??

Those are GLC link staffs. As the saying goes, civil servant wearing white all the time will get promoted faster than those wearing colorful stuff
yeh not just stat boards, GLCs we have many many also. The dependence of the economy on GLCs and stat boards stifles a lot of creativity, so that's why we have so few global brands.
