call them and ask you to email to them. you call the next day and ask for any outcome, they tell you if you are shortlisted, will call you. in other words, dun bother to call them.
you send your resume to them and they called you the next day, asking for a hosts of questions like, what is your date of birth, why you leave your previous company and how much was your last drawn. after asking liao, no more hear from them no more.
you received a missed call and you call back. the one who pick up say no idea who called you, then ask you to leave down your name and contact number. after that didnt hear from them.
I am so sick and tired of these employment agencies really. so unprofessional. some are downright rude.
wait till you go to those employment agencies that ask you go down for interview and than after that never call you to intro any jobs than you will know what really sucks
Well, I think that is how they operate what... you send in the resume, they will call you if they had shortlisted you for the jobs that they have on hand and arrange a interview between you and the company.
My previous one went well... though I got another job by myself. The agency still calling now and then and asking whether I am still looking... I think it was "success", you can try that agency.
Recruit express ? they always suck. Suck your pay, ask you sign contact bla bla bla

Francesco, you changed to blue IC , I am sure they will help you find job.
dondontan: wat u mean by change to blue IC ?
See how lucky you are actually, for me I sent and already 3 agencies called though.
My friend working in job agency said that once they know you are 40 and above, they will not send your resume to the companies. Most companies not interested to employ people from this age group.

service line companies hire young cheap filipinos with hardworking good attitude. At Age 40 can singaporeans put down their pride to serve others?
yeah......Only in Singapore where age 40 is considered OLD. Infact age 40 are full of experiences and stable mind.
Sad for Singapore only knows how to pursue Cheaper, Faster, Better. Forgot about Quality.
those agency cock 1 lah. you state your conditions for job and they keep pressing you things that you don't one. also those recruiter i can tell you its another like door to door sales paerson. if you think working is about tokin over the phone and here and there tok rot only you are still stuck at a lower level. only the highest levels one tok in spore, the rest listen. i look at the job scopes and ask discrepancies myself i etter at getting a job on my own than rely on recruiters.
Im a Senior HR professional wkg for various MNCs for about 8 years...Sad to say its true that many recruitment agencies in Singapore r substandard..u will realise that the better recruiters are caucasians notably aussies..they r courteous, professional and will always try to follow up if possible.
My opinion is that the worst agency in Singapore is Recruit Express. The only reason they r doing well is they know how to provide good account management to companies but they show a different facet to candidates. Totti, I faced the same problem as you when I was hunting for a job previously and you know what? It happened to me 3 times at RC during different time periods. I stil rem there was once when i called back, one staff at RC asked me rudely y am I calling twice since the person looking for me will call me if its important. Asked me to wait and not to call again. The ironic thing is Im actually holding a senior capacity in the HR industry and its me who decides which vendor to use. Needless to say, I have banned RC in the last few MNCs that I worked in and will never even speak to them after my bad experience. Y would I want them to treat my candidates in the same manner demeaning my company's reputation.Unfortunately the prob is that many MNCs do not search for candidates directly and rather engage the services of these agencies. Thus all of you will have no choice but to continue looking out for opportunities with these agencies if you want to source for a job with good prospects.

Well my company is hiring retail staff age 30+, hiring staff with many years of sales experience is money well spent.
If anyone is interested in weekend retail/sales promoter position, and you are age 30+, kindly send me a pm thx
Agreed, thats why I never use them, I find direct application jobs, based on my own merits.
I think all agencies ae like that, they will not call you if youa re not shortlisted.
Big difference between employment agency and Headhunting firm.
Really.
This is the delimma i am observing in the current job market for P-MET.
Some company will advertised a position few days later....you see the same job being advertised by different agencies.......the biggerest problem is to whom do you apply to?
If you commit to more than 1 agencies than who do you commit to if you get the job?
