Is 5 dollar per hour too little?

  Hi everyone...errr ...

  I just graduated from poly , waiting for National Service and I have yet to receive my Poly Transcript.

  Sales Assistant

  11 hours per day ( 9 working hours X 5 ) = 45 dollar a day

  ( doesn't pay for lunch break (2 hours break) )

  But the location of this job is just next to my house , take me less then 15mins of traveling time.

  So I was considering , is this job worth the time? or should I wait and look for a better job?

  I'm confuse now... I'm worried that if drag on i will not be able to find a part-time job before my NS.

  take the job

  you have 45$

  minus $15 for cigarettes you have 30$

  20$ for lunch and dinner you have 10$ to pay aracde

  If u dont take, other people will surely take. n maybe u cannot find a better paying job in the meantime.

  TS stick to your currently job! I tell you, if you leave this job, you will regret as it is near your house and you do not need to use transport fare also right? Save the transport fee.. Trust me, $5 per hour is quite reasonable already.. Some job only offer you work 4-5hours per day only, you are lucky to have this job:)

  Is the job you took up meant for O level holder? The pay is considered low for a polytechnic graduate.

  Since you are awaiting NS, just bear with it until time comes for the better.

  why is your lunch break so long? if you shorten to 1/2 an hour then you don't have to work for so long

  I think maybe you can try asking if can shorten the lunch hour to 1hr (or lesser if you want) and get more pay if you find it too little.

  whats ur diploma in? after my poly, i was working as a finance assistant for 8/hour doing rather simple stuff.

  if you're a business diploma, go apply with some job agency and you can definitely get higher pay in those office firms, but distance will be further definitely.

  I just dun like the idea. Then not forgetting the employers know you are a $13 per hour employee and expect you to be as productive, when you are actually paid $8 per hour. Just irks me to know that for every hour of work, $5 is eaten up by the agency.

  having a poly education doesnt mean U must be paid as a poly graduate...meaning its the job U do that gets U the kind of pay U are paid...not the educational level U have....

   

  U are not going to pay a PhD holder SGD10000 a month just to do the job of a cleaner right?

   

  Sales assistant...pay range is about there...no need transport...near to ur place...if ur mother cooks lunch....U dun even need to spend money on lunch.....ok lar...but I not sure why ur lunch break is 2 hrs lor...
